Halloween Arrives at Walt Disney World!

Walt Disney World has announced details about the much anticipated fall decorations and other seasonal offerings including snacks, merchandise, costumes, and more at the parks. The fall season will be celebrated from September 15 to October 31, 2020. Fall is our favorite time to visit the parks and with lower crowds and milder weather, this could be the best year yet!

Magic Kingdom Park will lead the way into the spooky season at Walt Disney World Resort. The Main Street Pumpkin Festival and Pumpkin Citizens of Town Square are returning, as well as the famous Mickey pumpkin-themed wreaths that will adorn lampposts up and down Main Street, U.S.A. Of course, Halloween is the fall holiday, and there will be some bewitching surprises this year, including a special Halloween-themed cavalcade with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and pals wearing their favorite Halloween costumes. Over in Frontierland, Chip ‘n Dale will appear in costume. Other Disney characters will be dressed up and riding the horse-drawn trolley down Main Street, USA.

Speaking of costumes, get yours ready! To bring some Halloween party fun into the park this year, for the first time guests of all ages can wear their costumes during Magic Kingdom Park regular operating hours from September 15 to October 31. As an important reminder, costume masks are not permitted for adults (only children younger than 14 years old are permitted to wear costume masks). In addition, all guests are required to wear approved face coverings during their visit. And be sure to capture your special moments with Disney PhotoPass! Photographers will be available throughout the park for themed photo opps. But beware – happy haunts may materialize in your pictures!

Festive Halloween-themed merchandise will be available in select locations around the park. Featured items include a new spirit jersey, Loungefly backpack and candy-swirl Minnie Mouse headband, along with a selection of apparel inspired by Disney Villains and more. It’s worth noting that at least some of the Halloween merchandise is already on the shelves. Walt Disney World isn’t waiting until September 15 to debut the new items–meaning that other aspects of the Halloween season could also begin early.

Spooky season at Walt Disney World Resort wouldn’t be complete without all the yummy treats! From the famous Pumpkin-spiced Waffle Sundae at Magic Kingdom to the sweet sips and fun novelties, each of the four parks offer a wonderful assortment of autumn-themed items you won’t want to miss. The parks will offer fall eats and treats, including all things pumpkin spice, apple sweets, and cinnamon delights. Here are the treats coming to each park, beginning September 8, 2020 unless otherwise noted…
