Once a vacation has been booked, there are still so many fun things to do as you prepare for your visit to The Most Magical Place On Earth! If you are like us, putting together outfits for each park day is a high priority. We talked about Disneybounding in an earlier post, What is DisneyBounding? In that post we gave a back story about its creation and shared some of our own outfits. Here we have some of the outfits we are working on for our upcoming trip, or as we like to call it, DisneyBound Outfit Of The Day (#dootd).
This first one is pretty simple and leans toward the casual side. November means cooler temps so a plaid flannel is an easy way to steer your outfit towards a favorite character. A yellow plaid flannel, pair of jean shorts and a red bandana are all you need for a Toy Story Woody DisneyBound. The cowboy hat, belt and boots are optional but we would suggest a splash of cowhide somewhere in the ensemble. A cute pair of Pixar or Woody Minnie ears are a great option to complete this look.
A great animal print is the start of a DisneyBound for an Animal Kingdom park day. This cute dress is from Express, but you can find one anywhere, even at a thrift store. Also, an animal print top with shorts or pants gets the job done too. Jewelry with an African vibe, a rucksack and any sunhat are all the accessories you need. The outfit should look light, airy and ready for an adventure!
The DisneyBound in our thumbnail is one of my personal favorites! ShopDisney just released this great Haunted Mansion Woven Camp Shirt and it is the inspiration for our Haunted Mansion DisneyBound. Unlike the usual black, purple and green colors associated with the attraction, this top has a brighter, groovy style. Take colors and characters from the print and pick your accessories. I don’t have Haunted Mansion ears, but I prefer these Purple Potion ears from last year. The Madame Leota bag is sold out at Hot Topic, but there are other options available. The new Dooney & Bourke Haunted Mansion bag has the same print as the top.
November begins the Christmas celebration at Walt Disney World. There will not be a Christmas Party this year, but Magic Kingdom and its guests will still be decked for the season! A Christmas sweater, festive leggings and a few accessories are all you need to create your DisneyBound outfit. The sweater is from Walmart and the ears are from Disney Parks. Neither are available anymore but you can easily choose something from this years selections. The leggings, crocs and backpack are all from Amazon. The mask is from shopDisney and comes in a set of two, as do other Disney holiday designs.
As you can see, some of our inspiration comes from items we already own. Always look in your closet to see if you have an item(s) that inspires a DisneyBound idea. Then you can begin to look for the other pieces you need to complete your outfit. Once you have an idea in your mind, you will start to notice clothing and accessories that will work. Check your local thrift store or Goodwill to help keep the cost per outfit at a minimum. You only need to find that one item that sparks your imagination and leads to the perfect DisneyBound outfit!
