Marvel fans, assemble! Disney has announced that Avengers Campus at California Adventure Park is opening on June 4, 2021! In addition to the Disneyland Resort reopening on April 30, California residents now also have the opening of Avengers Campus to look forward to. Disneyland Resort has been closed for over a year due to the Covid pandemic, but thankfully that is about to change. The magic is officially returning to the happiest place on earth and there’s so much to look forward to. As for Avengers Campus, here’s what visitors can expect when the Marvel-themed land opens during what is known as Phase 1.
Avengers Headquarters
The Avengers stand ready as the Quinjet rests high atop the Avengers Headquarters! Brave Super Heroes like Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America and Captain Marvel greet new recruits and scan the horizon for potential threats. Watch as they spring into action to defend the headquarters, resulting in an action packed showdown!
The Collector’s Fortress
Taneleer Tivan, a.k.a. the Collector, has brought his unique collection from across the cosmos to earth for the very first time. He offers to show you his newest acquisition… the Guardians of the Galaxy. They are held captive in electrified glass cases that dangle perilously over an abyss. Rocket escapes and enlists your help on a harrowing mission to rescue his fellow heroes in Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Prepare to unleash intergalactic mayhem from the top of the fortress to the bottom, as one of Star-Lord’s awesome mixtapes blasts a classic tune! Conclude your thrilling tour of the fortress by rummaging through cosmic keepsakes and Super Hero-themed souvenirs at the Collector’s Warehouse store.
Sanctum
Explore the ruins of a mysterious ancient sanctum and learn the site’s secrets from Doctor Strange. As he opens your eyes to the mysteries of the multiverse, learn the secrets of the mystic arts. Come, discover for yourself what has been hidden for centuries. See the ancient ruins and learn from Doctor Strange about the amazing Orb of Cagliostro. The Orb is known to be especially active at night. Visit after dark and you might see the Ancient Sanctum flowing with magical energy!
WEB (Worldwide Engineering Brigade)
Embark on an action-packed adventure alongside the amazing Spiderman on WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure! The new attraction gives fans the chance to experience what it’s like to sling webs. Help our friendly neighborhood hero wrangle his rogue Spider-Bots before they wreak havoc across the campus! Don’t forget to stop by WEB Suppliers on your way out. At this one-stop hero shop, new recruits will find everything necessary to accept important missions at a moment’s notice.
Hero Style Dining
On an urgent mission to fight hunger? Guests will be able to eat at several food locations, including the Pym Test Kitchen. Inspired by Ant-Man, this dining location is a food innovation science lab serving all kinds of inventive food and drinks (both big and small). You can even grab a craft beer or a Pym Particle-infused cocktail at the Pym Tasting Lab. Mobile Order will be offered at both of these locations. Other food locations include the Shawarma Palace, which is a food cart serving a shawarma wrap. You can even check out the Terran Treats food cart near Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT!
The Avengers Campus sounds like a Marvel fan’s dream come true! Stay tuned, because there’s also an E-ticket attraction set to open during Phase 2. Keep in mind that when Disneyland Park and California Adventure first open on April 30, only California residents may visit the parks. This is in line with current state guidelines. We’ll have to wait and see what the California guidelines are come June, but knowing fans can soon experience Avengers Campus is certainly exciting.
